Lesson learnt today
It was originally planned that I should wake up early next morning, or just stayback tonight to read some of those few stuff that I have. Still... having a discussion with this good friend of mine is not such a bad thing either, particularly that I learnt something so much today.
- I am currently thinking of finding my niche, based on the skills that I have. Still, its hard just to think by myself. What should I do? Find those group people that you are interested with, get to know them, their problems and how you can solve them. The more you think in someone else's shoes, the better you are in solving their problems.
- Recap on management. Don't micromanage and don't overnurture. Its easy to get carried away, especially when you just started on management. Believe me.
- If you have trouble switching between your technical side and management side, try to create different environment when you do each part. An example would be using the computer for my development effort, and just using paper based tools when I am concentrating on my management task.
- When you are dealing with women, patience is your thumb rule. Especially when you are dealing with a pregnant lady.
- There was a story about this one naughty kid. This kid was so naughty that he manage to annoy everyone in the neighborhood. One day, his father come about, and tell him to hammer a nail on this empty board everytime he does something bad. This kid, however naughty, manage to heed to his father's advice and soon found out that the board was so full of nails that he can't find any place to hammer another. He soon realized all those things that he have done to others. This time, his father come about again with another advice; when you apologize to each people you did something wrong to, pull out a nail. And so he did, until there was no more nails on the board. He then told his father that he had apologized to each and everyone he had wronged. His father, calmly, asked him to look at the board, "Look son. Even if you manage to pull out all the nails, the board was not the same as it was. Something remains, and those are the cracks that are caused by the nails. The same thing goes to people that you have wronged, they forgave you, but there would always be something that will remain in their heart."
- Boy, that story reminds me of someone that was so close to me before this. I had wondered, why is it so hard for her to even see me again. I guess now I can relate.
- An entrepreneur is someone who thinks so far ahead....
And some more things that I probably forget to put in here.
Reflecting on #1, hmmm... maybe its a good idea for me to go to MDC after all.
Time to sleep then...
